The brain of an adolescent is different from a child’s and an adult’s. It’s changing so much during this time that its effects upon moods, behaviours and lifestyle can be unsettling for both the adolescent and the whole family. Indeed, at times it might be frightening.
This 45 minute course offers a brief review of the brain, what it’s made of, how it works and just how it’s changing during this critical phase of life. It also shows how typical teenage behaviour can be explained, at least in part, by these changes and practical advice of both a general and a specific nature is also given.
The teenage years are an exciting, rewarding, explosive time and one which too many families wish over quickly. This course aims to offer knowledge, reassurance, guidance and it’s hoped that this combination will reduce any stresses within the family. We would like all involved to know what is in this course so they may enjoy and grow in all sorts of ways during these, often, turbulent years. This is our attempt to help which we have used successfully with many families over quite a few years.
